Southern Poverty Law Center sets up tip line to report racist text messages
After the 2024 presidential election, AP reported that Black people, across several states, including college, high-school and middle-school students, received racist text messages. Some of the anonymous texts referenced slavery or the incoming Trump administration; some told them to report to specific places to "pick cotton." The FBI, Justice Department and Federal Communications Commission are involved.
The Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks hate groups, has a tip line and online reporting to report racist texts. Call (855) 441-8694 or report online here if you have received one.
